This Guide Dog Saved The Life Of His Human In The Attack On The Twin Towers, He Never Abandoned Him

Due to the horrific terrorist assault on the twin towers on September 11, 2001, the date is now forever etched in the memory of all people. Because Salty, his devoted guide dog, saved his life, this guy called Omar Eduardo Rivera, a Colombian engineer who lost his vision, is one of the few survivors of the 9/11 catastrophe.

When the attack took place, Omar was at work in an office on the 71st floor of Tower 1, where the technological departments of the information services of New York and New Jersey were housed.
Omar grabbed Salty by his leash and they both ran to the emergency exit as the building started to shake and he could hear people screaming in desperation. However, Omar was aware that it would be difficult for him to escape the terrible situation unharmed given his condition, so he decided to give his beloved dog the freedom to run away. However, the unexpected occurred when Salty decided to stay by his side and call for help.

They took about an hour to escape from the tower and through this brave act it was totally demonstrated that Salty’s love for his human was enormous, Omar his guide dog saved his life.
Around 8:44 in the morning, I was startled to hear someone yell, “What the heck is this jet doing here? ” But a little while later, there was a violent hit, followed by a huge, deafening sound that appeared to ring next to my ear. The building started shaking right away, according to Omar Eduardo Rivera.

“I had a gut feeling that the building would collapse and that it was only a matter of time. I simply prayed to God to deliver me from that situation. Everything was in disarray at the time. I begged to God to grant me the privilege of continuing to live as I thought of my wife, my girls, and my mother.

Without a doubt, Omar was fortunate to have a great companion in his life, and Salty was very glad to share with her beloved Omar after the attack. They were the best of friends and were able to meet his human’s grandchildren.

Sadly, the dog passed away in 2008, but the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals awarded him a Dickin Medal in recognition of his bravery.

Omar continues to thank Salty for saving his life and giving him the chance to understand what it means to have a genuine friendship built on loyalty and love, even though Salty is no longer with us.
