Abused Dog Keeps Wagging His Tail And Trying To Kiss Everyone

Emerald was discovered wandering the streets of Philadelphia, her head and snout both severely injured. She pierced his skin to her bone since she had been bound so tightly and for so long around her muzzle. Emerald still loves people in spite of the evil that has been done to her.

“She wiggles about as she tries to kiss everyone. She is overjoyed. The idea that someone could have done this to him is absurd.”

Animal control personnel were called about a seriously injured dog that had been wandering the streets early on February 23. The dog was chained to a fence by her discoverers so that authorities might be sure to find her.

Philadelphia Animal Care & Control spokeswoman Morgan Polley said:

“There was a massive infected wound around her snout where she had been bound, and it appeared as though someone had wrapped her snout firmly with rope, wire, or something thin. She had a totally enlarged muzzle. It’s astonishing how lovely, sociable, and joyful she still managed to be in spite of everything.

The ACCT Philly shelter staff administered antibiotics and painkillers to Emerald without delay. But she required more comprehensive medical care than ACCT could offer.

As a result, the shelter urgently requested that an animal rescue organization take in Emerald. Outcast Rescue intervened at that time, just as they have done with hundreds of dogs since the organization’s founding in 2016.

Emerald had injuries that were far worse than Beth had anticipated. The 9-month-old has already undergone three operations in an effort to restore the damage done to her, and still needs more. She will require laser treatments for the scars on her muzzle and, once she is healthy enough, spay surgery.

Beth doesn’t like to guess as to what could have caused Emerald’s ancient scars on her body.
