Dog Left In A Cage To Be Washed Away By The Tide Is Rescued At The Last Moment

At a coastal park in the Highlands of New Jersey’s Monmouth County, a dog walker observed a little dog imprisoned in a cage that was being swallowed by the rising tide and intervened to save it from probable death.

The Monmouth County District Attorney’s Office is hunting for the individual who abandoned the sad puppy or someone who saw the dog being abandoned there and has opened an inquiry into the incident.

According to a Facebook post, a local was taking his dog for a morning stroll at Veterans Memorial Park along the bay when his dog saw the caged animal on the shoreline next to rocks.

A year old gray and white pit bull, the dog has since been given the name River. River was curled up in a cage on a little area of sand between the rocks and the sea, which had reached the cage when the tide began to rise.

According to a Facebook post from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office:

“The cage was nearly submerged by the tide when Animal Control arrived on the scene. The dog may have drowned if it weren’t for the brave rescue effort of the Good Samaritan.”

The canine was saved by the good samaritan who scaled the wall and brought it to the Highlands Police Department, who got in touch with the district attorney’s office. The confined dog was probably close to the water between 4 and 6 in the morning, according to the experts’ analysis of the tidal calendar.
