Heartbroken Dog Is Abandoned At Shelter Because His Family Has A New Puppy

Hunter believed he had a forever family that would adore him no matter what. Sadly, he was mistaken. The Texas Houston Humane Society received the 6-year-old dog after it was discharged. His former family informed the shelter officials that they had decided not to keep him any longer since he didn’t get along with their new puppy.

“When I initially approached the kennel, I didn’t even notice a dog there; I had to turn around to see one. He was attempting to blend into the background as I watched him immobilized with panic. I turned away from him, sat down on the ground, and waited for him to approach. After a while, he approached with caution.

Randi uploaded a video of that touching occasion and wrote:

Have you ever considered the appearance of a broken heart? There you have it, then.

Hunter’s comfort was limited by Randi’s abilities. He had every right to be angry at what was happening.

“Randy” said

I felt terrible for him. That evening, while I slept warmly with my pets, I sobbed as I imagined him there, all by himself and terrified.

Following the social media release of the video, more people became aware of Hunter’s situation. And once the news got out, adoption offers came in like crazy. Hunter would hopefully soon discover the affection, company, and dedication that all dogs like him deserve.

“I never anticipated the reception my video would receive. But I’m so happy I did.”

Sadly, some individuals treat their pets more like throwaway decorations than true members of their families, like the family who neglected Hunter, and shelters are overflowing with dogs and cats abandoned for the smallest of reasons.

Randi hopes that her relationship with Hunter will cause those individuals to rethink their minds.
