Lost Dog Reunites With Her Mom Who Spent 8 Years Looking For Her

In 2009, Sophia Hanson abandoned her two dogs, Laila and Blake, in her garden. They vanished, and while Blake was located a year later, Laila had been lost for eight years.

Sophia stated:

“We still don’t know if they were stolen because there was no open door, nothing. They had both vanished.”

According to The Dodo, the woman found her pit bull Blake thanks to a Craigslist ad after someone in her area in San Antonio, Texas tried to sell him for $500.

She stated:

“We strolled in as if to say, ‘Oh, we’re just going to get a puppy.’ We had our cash ready. They had him on the largest chain I’d ever seen when we went back there and confirmed it was him.”

“I was really reckless. It took some time, but he’s now the biggest teddy bear.”

He was overjoyed to have discovered Blake, but he couldn’t stop thinking about his dog Laila. Sophia had been hunting for her for years, visiting several shelters in the hopes of seeing her again, but she couldn’t find her.

Fortunately, Janice Rackley, a kind soul, saw the missing dog in 2018, her bones clearly visible, implying that she had been alone all these time.

Janice stated:

“She simply needed assistance, and no one was going to assist her.” I had the impression that I was there for a reason, and that reason was to assist her. She relied on me.”

Janice has taken it upon herself to travel to the fields every day with huge jugs of water and food for Laila. She was afraid and tried to flee when the lady approached her, but she gradually caved in until she absolutely trusted him.

Janice stated:

“I suppose it was around six months before she eventually started getting closer and closer to me, and she finally let me pet her.” ‘Maybe she could grab a leash because she’s letting me pet her, and I can hold the leash while I’m feeding her,’ I reasoned. But she fled away every time she saw this strap ».

The weather was growing frigid as New Year’s Eve approached. So, knowing that this was her final chance to save the puppy, Janice resolved to act without hesitation.
