This Man Didn’t Mind Losing Everything In A Fire As Long As He Had His Dog

On January 7, a sad and touching tale about a 56-year-old man from Mexicali, Baja California, who lost his home to a roaring fire and realized that his closest buddy was what really important in life was shared on various social media platforms.

The person known as Don Mario has his own business selling cups or covers for automobile tires for ten years despite having a hearing impairment that does not impede him from being self-sufficient.

Mario Alberto Méndez González, who regretfully had to watch as his ancestry vanished, lives alone with his beloved puppy.

Several sector inhabitants were able to notify about the fire that appeared to have originated in the room as a result of an electrical short as Mario slept in the early morning hours. Fortunately, Don Mario woke up in time to escape his burning home as the fire soon spread to other areas of the building.

His Nissan pickup, which was loaded with goods and further fueled the fire, was also engulfed in flames.

While the neighbors were waiting for the fire department, Don Mario got frantic to rescue the life of his buddy who was still inside the house. The fire had almost completely destroyed the house, but the neighbors stopped him from entering in order to rescue it.

When the firefighters came, they discovered this dramatic scene when Don Mario, who was in a frantic state, started to use a neighbor’s hose to put out the fire.

Mario had no interest in worldly possessions; all he desired was that they aid his closest buddy.

In a Facebook remark, Express RGV said:

He gestured to the fireman to let them know that his dog was his main concern and that they would be able to save him.

Since it was quite improbable that the animal would have lived, everyone at the time anticipated the worst, but the guy never gave up.

One of the firefighters somehow emerged from the home with Don Mario’s dog. He shouted at it when he saw it, and the dog immediately went into his arms. He held the puppy and started weeping.

Jonathan Bobadilla, a photographer and neighbor, took the picture and posted it online after receiving praise for it.

The fact that Don Mario and his dog survived the catastrophe unscathed is what matters most in the narrative, despite all the financial losses.

The pictures showed the nobleness of Don Mario’s heart and the genuine love he has for his companion, who he loves without conditions. His neighbors and those who had seen the news quickly arranged a variety of fundraising events to assist him.
