Dog With A Sad Past Is Now Very Happy To Have A Second Chance
Since Corks is a puppy that radiates happiness to everyone in his vicinity, it is difficult to imagine that he has ever been through anything particularly upsetting. Corks’ current happy existence is made possible by a rescue group that, along with a number of other kind individuals, chose to give him a second shot.
He was seen wandering the streets late last year with severe paw damage. The doctors believe he could have been struck by a vehicle.
Corks was dressed and transferred to a shelter, but even though his physical wounds started to heal, it was clear that he had mental scars as well, and his time there was running out.
Before they were able to put him to death, Dogs Without Borders saved his life.
The personnel of the company wrote:
In the refuge, [he] was ready to be put to death. He no longer had much faith in people.
Corks’ health gradually began to significantly improve, although it took him some time before he felt secure among people once more.
Fortunately, a few months later the puppy was able to get a foster home with Brooke Wilson. After hearing his tale, Wilson felt compelled to assist the pup in taking advantage of this second opportunity that life had given him.
Wilson was obviously unaccustomed to generosity when Corks arrived at his home.
Wilson said to The Dodo:
He snarled at me, my housemates, and pretty much everyone he met in the first week. He took time to trust.
