An Adorable Labrador Retriever Who Was Saved By The Mexican Navy In The Floods Has Been Adopted By Them

Hurricane Eta’s strong rains severely damaged southern Mexico, affecting more than 300,000 people, leaving hundreds missing, and killing scores of people. The floods brought on by this natural occurrence have not been witnessed in the Tabasco region for more than 50 years.

The Secretariat of the Navy-Navy of Mexico (SEMAR) is working to assist as the damage and its consequences are still being felt after the severe storms have gone.

SEMAR persisted in its rescue effort, searching Villahermosa’s flooded streets for anyone who urgently required assistance.

You can see in the video how they came upon the sad animal in need of assistance while patrolling the flooded region by boat. He was terrified and grasping onto a metal window frame of a home with his front paws in an attempt to prevent drowning.

The dog was apparently trying to hang onto his family’s home in the hopes of relocating them. Half of his body was submerged in water, and things didn’t look good, but one of the rescuers stroked his head and assisted him into the boat.
