Service Dog Visits Disney World With His Mom And Has Cutest Photo Shoot

In early 2017, Henry moved in with his mother Jessica Paulsen to be her service dog, and he altered her life from the day he arrived.

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome is a disorder that Paulsen suffers from (POTS). Henry assists his mother by doing deep pressure treatment, in which he utilizes his body weight to raise his mother’s blood pressure, reducing the duration of fainting and nausea episodes. He can also rescue her spouse in an emergency, pick up items, assist around the house, and even pull his mother ahead so she doesn’t have to expend as much energy.

Paulsen and Henry have visited Disney World six times, four of which were to assist Henry with his service dog training. They both adore Disney World, and on their most recent visit, they wanted to add a little extra fun and brighten everyone’s day by doing the loveliest picture sessions.

They spent time with Kevin from the film “Up”…

Henry also had the opportunity to perform several solo picture sessions, dressing up in clothes that would make even the most jaded person grin.

While the couple enjoys all Disney has to offer, they also want to utilize their visits as educational opportunities for the numerous people that visit the parks with them every day. Not everyone understands how to behave around a service dog, and Paulsen and Henry are always prepared to teach anybody who is interested.

“When people say, ‘You can bring dogs here?’ I attempt to correct them.” Because Disney World would be a difficult setting for an ordinary dog,” Paulsen told The Dodo. “It’s difficult for me to inform kids that Henry can’t be pet when he’s at work.” We do allow pets on occasion, and it’s a terrific opportunity for us to teach youngsters and their parents how to engage with working dogs and never pet without asking.”

Henry has come a long way from his first trip to Disney World, and his mother is quite proud of him and his training accomplishments.

“Henry was much too enthusiastic to see characters when we first arrived to Disney over a year ago; it was lovely, but it didn’t bode well for his training,” Paulsen said. “He’s still not perfect, but I’m so happy of how far he’s come when he meets characters.”

The couple’s favorite thing to do at the end of a long Disney day is watch the fireworks show, which always reminds Paulsen how happy she is to have Henry and what a significant influence he’s made on her life.
