Pit Bull With The Sweetest Smile Has Been Waiting For A Home For 981 Days

Nitro was rescued as a stray in late August 2016 by a Good Samaritan and taken to the Brookhaven Animal Shelter in New York. All of the workers and volunteers at the shelter quickly fell in love with the adorable pit bull, and everyone figured he’d be on his way to his forever home in no time.

Unfortunately, it’s been over 981 days and Nitro is still waiting for a home in his kennel at the shelter.

Nitro has had a difficult time in the shelter during the last few years. The 5-year-old pit bull doesn’t seem to grasp why he’s there and has difficulty staying in his kennel while waiting for love and attention. Fortunately, everyone who works and volunteers at the shelter loves him, but it’s still not the same as having a home and a family.

Brittany Broderick, a worker at Brookhaven Animal Shelter, told The Dodo, “He is managing shelter life quite badly.” “He’ll weep in his kennel, wondering when his day will come, but when he gets out, he’ll have a big smile on his face, and he’ll be adored by so many volunteers.”

Nitro always has a wide smile on his face, despite his hardships with shelter life…

… and is undoubtedly one of the happiest dogs in the planet.

When he gets to play outside, he has the greatest grin on his face and is always happy to pose for the camera as he runs about. He doesn’t ask for much; all he wants is to spend time outside with his friends.

His smile is one-of-a-kind, and it brightens the days of everyone who knows him, as well as the life of any happy family that thinks he’s the appropriate dog for them.

Nitro is a very energetic dog that enjoys going on walks, running around outside, and playing fetch. He’d want a family that can keep up with his enthusiasm and play outside with him as often as possible. He also needs to be the only pet in his new home, and a family without small children would be ideal. Nitro, on the other hand, simply wants a family that will take him away from the shelter and shower him with affection, knowing that he will return the favor every day.
