Puppy Sits In Shelter Smiling At Everyone Who Passes By

Courtney Wingate was visiting the local animal control facility when she came across three little Lab puppies in a kennel. Wingate knew she couldn’t leave the gorgeous puppies behind as the director of the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, especially when one of them showed the most charming smile she’d ever seen.

Wingate summoned volunteer Sarrah Walton, who rushed over to rescue the 8-week-old puppies. Walton, an LSU football enthusiast, called the puppies Joe, Burreaux, and O after the school’s quarterback and coach.

The puppies tested negative for parvo at the clinic, but Burreaux, the puppy with the heart-melting face, became ill after they arrived at the rescue. They hurried him back to the vet, where he made a miraculous recovery.

When Walton returned to the rescue, he began to notice that anytime someone spoke to Burreaux in a loud voice, telling him he was a nice boy, the pup would immediately flash his teeth in a wide grin.

“It’s whenever you’re chatting to him sweetly… Walton told The Dodo, “He gets this smile like he wants something.” “It’s as if he’s saying, ‘Come pet me, come love me,'” she says.

The rescue shared a video showcasing Joe’s innate gift for fetching when the dogs were ready to start seeking for their permanent homes. Joe was adopted right away.

“They’re all pleasant and kind, and they want to play,” Walton remarked. “Burreaux and his sister are learning fetch as well.”

Walton and Wingate began to consider what unique skill Burreaux might demonstrate in a Facebook video. He wasn’t as skilled at fetch as his brother, but he loved “sweet talk.”

“And we were thinking, ‘Burreaux wants a home so badly that he’s always smiling,'” Walton explained. “So we made that video, and now it’s going viral,” says the narrator.
