Dog Waited On The Porch For Weeks After His Family Moved Away

Cupid stood there watching his family pack their belongings, load boxes into their car, and drive away. He had no idea what was going on or why he hadn’t been invited to join them.

The only thing he knew was that this was his home. And he hoped that his family might return if he waited long enough.

SPERANZA ANIMAL RESCUE

Neighbors reported a dog lying on the porch of a residence in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Janine Guido, founder of Speranza Animal Rescue. Guido told The Dodo, “All I was informed was that his owners moved out and left him behind.” “When I inquired whether anybody else knew anything about the dog, they merely answered, ‘They moved out.'”

Cupid was feeding out of the garbage when Guido discovered him, but when she went to approach him, he bolted back to his safe haven. He leapt up and furiously scraped at his door, pleading to be let in.

Guido’s heart was broken by that simple gesture.

Guido attempted to persuade Cupid to eat, but the jittery dog escaped.

Guido eventually discovered out how to gain the dog’s trust after 30 minutes of pursuing him through alleyways. All she had to do was assure him that everything will be fine: “I think he knew what I was saying to him,” Guido replied, laughing. “He literally walked up, sat down, and let me leash him.”

Throughout the journey home, she began to describe what was happening to Cupid.

Cupid has been steadily acclimating to his new surroundings since arriving at the rescue.

“Since coming to the rescue, he’s been nothing but the kindest gentleman,” Guido remarked. “You can see he’s still befuddled.” “However, he greets everyone with a wagging tail.”
