Shelter Dog Gets Out Of Kennel One Night And Throws A Party

Since he was a puppy, Gilligan has been at the Bedford County Humane Society in Pennsylvania. He had a terrible start in life that left him with a lot of challenges to overcome, so the shelter decided to put him to work as an office greeter, which he enjoys.

Joyce Ross, an employee at Bedford County Humane Society, told The Dodo, “He is an excellent workplace greeting.” “Every time someone passes through the door, he informs us while patiently waiting for the visitor to bring him goodies or a new toy.” He’s made a lot of development.”

Someone at the shelter recently put Gilligan in his kennel but didn’t latch it properly as they were closing up for the night. He was able to wiggle the door open and get himself free after everyone had gone home for the night. He was alone in the shelter and had the freedom to do anything he pleased, so he threw himself a party.

“He checked the building for a long time to see whether anyone was inside,” Ross added. “When he realized he was alone, he immediately went for the toys.” He took them one by one from the pile of Christmas contributions that we had just received and carried them into the hallway to play with.

The next day, when everyone gathered to the shelter, there was no need to try to figure out who had made the mess. As he did a little happy dance, Gilligan was right there, extremely pleased of himself and eager to take control of the situation.

Ross added, “He showed no guilt and was pleased to meet a familiar face.”

As everyone looked about at the shambles, they were relieved to find that Gilligan had kept his gang in check. He hadn’t gone for anything, not even the meal. He’d only been interested in the squeaky toys, and he made it obvious to the other dogs at the shelter that they were now his.
