A Dog That Had Been Lost For Weeks Turned Up At Her Mother’s Workplace

June Rountree and her husband had been searching their whole Dothan, Alabama area for their missing dog Abby for many nights but had been unsuccessful. After an unexpected turn of events three weeks later, they were certain that Abby was Dothan’s smartest or luckiest dog.

On November 8 of this year, the 60-year-old woman discovered Abby had vanished when she walked to her house’s backyard and couldn’t locate her. The Rountree family looked all around the area for their black and white dog, but she was nowhere to be seen.

According to The Washington Post, June stated:

“I told you it couldn’t be!”

June was still watching as several members of the staff pursued the dog along all of the halls but were unable to capture it.

A Walmart employee, Danielle Robinette, said:

«I was like, ‘What the hell is going on here?’ ‘Because I am an animal lover, I followed the animal to cash register number six.’

It was Abby, and her mother was in that box, who was astonished and identified by the white fur around her snout.

June had this to say:

“I called her by her name, and she replied right away; she came over, and I hugged her.” I couldn’t talk since my emotions had taken over; I was shocked and couldn’t believe it.

Danielle claimed her companion glanced up from her phone, tears in her eyes, and stated this was Abby, her lost puppy.

June stated,

“I couldn’t put into words how I felt; everyone was around me, and I couldn’t even speak to them.”

Danielle began photographing the emotional scene and then posting them to Facebook. His message instantly went viral, garnering hundreds of likes and comments.

The lady had hoped for a reunion, but she had always assumed that Abby would be waiting for her when she returned home from work in front of her house.

The Rountrees live approximately 1.5 miles from Walmart, but Abby has never visited the store. Her family, on the other hand, had regularly taken her to the store’s parking lot and into the woods behind it.

June had this to say:

“I’m not sure how he knew I worked there.”

Perhaps the dog was walking around the location and recalled she had been there previously and wanted to see if she might get some assistance.

Professor of psychology Clive Wynne expressed his expert opinion:

“I believe the animal was roaming around aimlessly until it found a comfortable home. I believe she was distressed and looking for a safe haven; a dog’s navigation isn’t flawless, but it does identify some landmarks…»

Another surprise fact is that Abby was not famished; it appears that someone had been feeding her throughout her absence.

June stated,

“I’d want to express my gratitude to whoever came up and offered him food.”
