When A Girl Meets The Dog She Believed Was Gone Forever, She Can’t Stop Crying

Fergus, a 200-pound Irish wolfhound who lives with his family in Nashville, Tennessee, had a terrible time going in the car with his folks. A car crashed with them from behind at a red light, and the force of the impact ejected Fergus, who, shaken by the hit, got up and walked away from the automobile.

Fergus’ sister, Meredith McKay Luckett, told The Dodo:

“Within seconds, my father had rushed out of the car and was on the lookout for him, but he was vanished.” As you could expect, he was terrified and simply rushed away.

Meredith and her family informed their neighbors about their beloved dog’s disappearance, and within minutes, hundreds of people from all across the city had assembled to assist in the hunt.

The young lady stated:

“Within 30 minutes of the collision, people were frantically searching the area for Fergus.” We had rescue teams on the scene with feeding stations set up, and we were doing all we could to follow the leads.

Days passed with no trace of Fergus, but family members refused to give up hope.

Meredith received a call just when hopes were fading and it appeared that Fergus might not return.

Her greatest comfort came from knowing that her adoring puppy was now safe.

Meredith continued:

He’s unquestionably a lovable colossus. She’s a diva who prefers to stay indoors, which is one of the reasons we were terrified she was outside. Definitely a well-cared-for pet.

Fergus’ mother was already waiting for the girl when she arrived at Fergus’ house, which was near to the collision site. Meredith couldn’t help but cry when she met her puppy for the first time. The dog, for his part, joined him, cuddled on his shoulder and howling happily.

She stated, ”

“Obviously, it was a really emotional reunion.”

The family took the dog to the veterinarian for treatment of the scrapes and bruises he had sustained in the accident.

Meredith explained:

It’ll be a lengthy journey for him. “Right now, we’re putting all of our efforts on fixing it.”
