Since The Day They Met, Tiny Dog Has Been On The Lookout For His Big Sister

Elizabeth Frank couldn’t figure out what was wrong with Miss Piggy. Miss Piggy was nervous and afraid around humans, whimpering anytime someone lifted their hand, whereas Frank was positive the pit bull mix had come from a loving household.

“Her dread wasn’t simply bashful timidity,” Frank, founder of New York City-based Mr. Bones & Co., told The Dodo. “She was terrified to death.” If you approached her, she would either flee or pancake, which is when a dog flattens itself on the ground.”

Mr. Bones & Co. had taken in Miss Piggy (Frank calls her Miss P) and a Chiweenie named Happy when their elderly owner — a woman named Agnes — became ill.

“We usually don’t take ‘owner surrenders’ since the owner is usually lazy and decides they don’t want a dog anymore,” Frank explained. “However, in this situation, their previous owner was becoming increasingly ill. She realized she’d have to go into assisted living in the near future, so she began looking for someone who would take her pets. “When we heard her tale, we knew we had to say yes.”

Miss P and Happy turned out to be a one-of-a-kind couple.

“Miss P has a double cleft palate, so she has a really unusual appearance,” Frank explained. “We think she’s incredibly gorgeous.” “She’s got a mishmash of teeth all over the place, but she’s very adorable.”

“Happiness is the polar opposite,” she explained. “He’s snarky and confident enough for both of them.” He is the mayor of both cities. He’s like Mr. Popular, and he’s got a big dog attitude.”

Frank could see the dogs were really close despite their differences. Frank remarked, “They’re like the odd couple, and it’s so comical.” “They’re fantastic.” They’re fantastic dogs.”

But she couldn’t figure out why Miss P was so terrified.

“I searched through her documents since it didn’t make sense,” Frank explained. “This owner was so nice that she provided us two big files filled with vet information and everything. I discovered standard pit bull breed registration paperwork when going through her folder, which we see a lot of backyard breeders employ.”

Frank hadn’t communicated with the owner personally because she was so unwell. She did, however, find the woman’s phone number and decided to contact her.

“She was this wonderful, sweet woman,” Frank continued, “who sounded like she might be your grandmother.” “When I tell her who I am, she begins to cry.” She’s simply relieved that her pets aren’t at a shelter. And I informed her that they’re in foster care together and that we’ll adopt them out together.”
