This Blind Chicken Has The Most Lovely Pit bull Brother Who Always Brings Her Favorite Toys

Peri was adopted by her family when she was just a few days old, and six months later, she developed a severe eye infection. The chicken’s family treated her for months with daily meds and even took her to many specialists, but they eventually found that blindness was unavoidable.

Peri’s family, determined to aid her as much as they could, set out to ensure that her blindness did not prevent her from doing what she wanted.

Peri’s mother, Christa Hubbard, told The Dodo, “We made changes to help her as she lost her sight: bowls on a throw rug that make noise, special low roosting bars, an ottoman in the living room to ‘watch’ TV with us in the evening and an extra large ottoman in our room, next to our bed, for her bed.”

“When we weren’t home, we hired a chicken ‘nanny’ to look after her.”

Peri has grown into the kindest, most cuddly chicken around, and she loves having the care she needs from her family since she needed so much attention at such an early age. When she first went blind, her pit bull brother, Taj, recognized something was wrong right away and became her primary guard.

Hubbard added, “He was 3 years old at the time and quickly took to helping her find her way.” “A chicken with a seeing eye dog.

They were together for the following eight years. He would safeguard and guide her.

They sunbathed and napped together. Taj passed away in July 201 following a lengthy fight with cancer. Peri felt lost without her pal, she realized he was no longer with her.”

Peri’s family was concerned about how she would deal without Taj, who had been such an important part of her life.

They agreed to adopt two pit bull puppies despite the fact that their hearts were still healing. Peri brightened up again as soon as they joined the family, delighted to have made new pals.

Peri grew to love her sister Gracie as the puppies grew older, and the two are now as close as Peri and Taj were when they were younger — with one charming bonus.

Because Peri is blind, Gracie is always concerned that she won’t be able to discover her favorite toys on her own, so she takes them to her whenever she can.

Peri is incredibly grateful to her best buddy for every gesture, as if she believes the toys would also comfort and assist her as she navigates life.

Hubbard explained, “Gracie will bring Peri a toy, place it in front of her, and wait.” “Gracie can be found resting outside the gate waiting for Peri while she is out in her yard doing chicken things (Peri has a fenced-in area as we have a pool).

Gracie brings Peri a toy while she is ‘watching’ TV on her ottoman. When we wake up in the morning, Gracie checks on her sleeping friend.”

Taj was very important to Peri, and now Gracie is equally important to her new friend.

The two sisters are constantly together, and Gracie appears to have made it her life’s purpose to keep

Peri safe, happy, and never without a toy.

Hubbard added, “I believe this is only the beginning of where Taj left off.” “Two lovely spirits have crossed paths.”
