A Chinese Businessman Spends His Whole Income To The Care Of Stray Dogs

Wang Yan, a Chinese businessman who owns a steel firm in Changchun, China, lost his dog in 2012 and sought for it for a long time without success. It was then, as a last option, he went to a slaughterhouse; the atrocities he witnessed there inspired him to spend his whole wealth protecting dogs from these places.

China has a significant number of stray dogs, who unfortunately wind themselves in areas like that, where they are sold for meat. Wang wants to help as a memorial to his long-lost pet.

In an interview with Sina News, Wang stated:

“I looked everywhere, but it was all for nothing. Someone finally allowed me into the slaughterhouse so I could try my luck there.”

Instead, he faced horrifying images that he could not forget. He bought the slaughterhouse and set up a rescue facility because he felt sorry for the dogs that were ready to be murdered for their meat.

The man purchased an abandoned steel mill and converted it into a stray dog shelter over time.

In an interview with Metro, the guy stated that he put $400,000 into the slaughterhouse and paid for the refuge with his own money.

Wang continued:

“I don’t take monetary donations; instead, I’m hoping that kind-hearted individuals would contribute materials to assist.”

Since the shelter’s inception, Wang has covered all costs with his own funds. He has incurred significant debt in order to provide food and medical treatment for the dogs, but he does it out of a strong desire to help them.

The rescue center’s dogs have mostly been adopted by loving homes.
