This is Wonderful How These People Saved This Donkey From Irish Floods and Now He Can’t Stop Smiling After Taking Care of Him
A donkey that was caught in the flood last Sunday is healing after being rescued by a member of an Irish boat club. A lady posted a plea for support on her Animal Heaven Animal Rescue (AHAR) Facebook page.
After extreme storms destroyed the gates, the donkey escaped from its stable in Killorglin, Co Kerry, on Saturday night.
After a local river spilled its borders, the donkey was discovered trapped and in need of assistance, surrounded by heavy floods.
Mike Fleming, a part of the Killorglin Rowing Club, saw the donkey and, with the help of a team of animal rescuers from the animal shelter, managed to rope and float it out onto the beach.
The donkey, called Mike after his saviour, is healing at the animal shelter while his stable is being restored, according to a representative for Animal Heaven Animal Rescue.
Suzanne Gibbons, the shelter’s founder, stated: “He is now dry with towels, eating a hot mash, all comfortable and happy.” Our veterinarian examined him and began him on medication to avoid pneumonia.
He has a little lung issue, but our veterinarian believes he will recover.
The foundation and its owner expressed gratitude for the assistance received; the image, in which the donkey seemed to have smiled once more, was the finest of all.
Donkeys are adorable. He’s really smiling …
