A Russian Couple Adopted an Orphaned Bear as a Cub, and They Are Still Together After 23 Years

Brown bears are one of the world’s biggest bear species. Brown bears pose a greater threat than other bears. They try to avoid human interaction as much as possible.

But how would you respond if you learned that a couple in Russia had truly adopted a colossal bear? Yes, they have lived with a bear for almost two decades. Svetlana and Yurity Panteleenko of Moscow, Russia, first encountered Stefan the bear when he was just three months old.

They discovered it in the bushes, pleading for rescue. He appeared to be an orphan. It broke the couple’s heart to see the beautiful cub in such a dreadful position. As a result, they decided to take him home and care for him.

The bear never left his family after that, and he still lives with his human family, who saved his life. The bear has been around for over 23 years and weighs around 450 pounds, but to the couple, he is simply another fuzzy buddy. You won’t believe it when I tell you that the three of them sit on the same sofa and watch their favorite TV shows together.

Though the bear has never lived as a wild animal and is domesticated, it is difficult to think that his innate inclinations have been completely suppressed.

Because bears are the most dangerous predators, they must be treated with extreme caution and respect. The couple is certain that they will never be afraid since they know Stefan will never hurt them.

Stefan, according to his human mother, loves people and is highly sociable. He is not aggressive in the least. The bear’s daily diet consists of 55 pounds of fish, veggies, and eggs.
