A Man Crawls Beneath A Sidewalk To Save Six Kittens And Give Them A Better Life
Six kittens were hiding beneath the sidewalk until a guy dived beneath it to rescue them and help them turn their lives around.
Catsnip Etc, an Elkhart, Indiana-based TNR (trap-neuter-return) rescue, was called five weeks ago about a litter of kittens discovered in a hole under the pavement.
The kittens needed to be retrieved as quickly as possible because the situation was unsafe for them. Catsnip Etc volunteers Paige, Carl, and Helen sprung into action and arrived with tools to help pull the babies to safety. “We arrived with poles, duct tape, a net, and flashlights when they phoned and stated kittens needed help,” the rescue explained.
They had to dig around the aperture to get a decent view of the kittens because the hole was so tiny. They counted six small infants curled in the rear, absolutely out of reach, after they found the litter.
They tried to entice the kittens out by playing a video of a cat mother calling her youngsters, but the six furballs refused to move. Carl stepped up to the plate and offered to rescue the kittens by crawling beneath the concrete.
He shimmied into the hole head first, lying on his back. As his belly scraped against the ground, he had hardly enough room to move ahead. He was able to reach the kittens and give them over to the other volunteers after carefully sliding his body into the small area.
Carl squirmed his way out and could finally breathe a sigh of relief as they collected the sixth cat. He was weary, but relieved to learn that all six kittens had survived.
“Carl was a hero,” the rescue claimed, “he crawled the tiniest hole ever to retrieve them.” “The kittens were filthy and covered in fleas.”
They were able to locate the wild cat mom and bring her to the rescue using a humane trap.
“We had six scared infants leaving to a foster home and a feral mother finding a safe barn home after a hard couple of hours. There was no one left behind. There could not have been a nicer way to conclude the day.”
Despite their initial fear, the kittens gradually warmed up to their foster caregivers once they were settled into their cozy new home. They immediately discovered that there was enough of food and that nice blankets were ideal for napping.
They were courageous enough to let their people bathe them and offer them some much-needed hugs a few days later.

“While they weren’t thrilled with the wash, they’re becoming better at snuggling.”
The feral mother has been vaccinated and spayed. She will be habituated to a lovely barn with food and shelter when she is ready to move into her new home, and she will be cared for for the rest of her life.
The kittens have a long way to go in terms of development and feline abilities. Each day, they get more self-assured and lively, and their personalities begin to emerge.
